ABOUT JUDY
My teaching has been shaped by a winding path — from performing in musical theatre and film, to launching award-winning restaurants across London, Edinburgh, and Glasgow, to eventually taking a sabbatical that changed everything. I traveled through South America, completed my first yoga teacher training in Australia, explored New Zealand, and eventually settled in South East Asia where I lived and taught yoga and became a Dive Master.
For over two decades, I've immersed myself in yoga — training and teaching across Europe, India, Asia, and Australia. I'm also a Reiki Master, weaving energy healing into my classes to help you reconnect with your body, quiet your mind, and find balance, clarity, and ease.
Nine years ago, when I moved to Victoria Park in East London, I noticed something missing: a welcoming space where people could practice yoga and actually feel part of a community. So my best friend Nadine and I created one. We co-founded Ánimo Yoga — designed with the same care and attention to atmosphere I'd brought to hospitality, but this time in service of connection and grounded presence.
Twelve weeks after opening, the pandemic hit. We pivoted everything online and became a lifeline for our community during those uncertain months. It was during that time I deepened my training in Pregnancy and Postnatal Yoga, which has since become central to my work.
What excites me most now is the restorative side of practice — Yin Yoga, Restorative Yoga, breathwork, and supporting people through anxiety, insomnia, and the transitions of pregnancy and motherhood. I teach from lived experience: navigating the grief of loosing both parents in five years, motherhood, burnout, and everything in between. My classes are honest, grounded, and compassionate — with warmth and a sprinkling of humour too, because this practice should feel good.
